Privacy Policy

Last updated 26 June 2026

This policy explains how SA Online K53 (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our learner training programme at onlinek53.co.za. We process your information in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. Information we collect

  • Account details — your name, email address and, where provided, your phone number.
  • Learning activity — your course enrolments, progress, quiz and assessment results, and certificates. We track this to run the programme and to apply the pass guarantee.
  • Payment information — when you pay, our payment providers process your card/payment details. We do not store your card numbers; we only receive confirmation of payment.
  • School affiliation — if you join through a partner driving school’s voucher or link, we record which school referred you.
  • Technical data — basic information your device sends (such as browser type) needed to deliver and secure the service.

2. How we use your information

To create and manage your account; deliver the training and track your progress; apply and verify the pass guarantee; process payments and voucher redemptions; send you service emails (welcome, reminders, expiry and completion notices); provide support; and keep the platform secure.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with parties that help us run the service:
  • Payment providers (PayFast and PayPal) to process payments.
  • Our email service provider to deliver service emails.
  • Secure cloud hosting and storage providers that run the platform and serve course media.
  • Your partner driving school, if you joined through one — they can see your progress and contact details for the courses you took with them.
  • Authorities, where we are required to by law.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings, but you will then need to sign in again.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your account and learning records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, to honour the guarantee, meet legal and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. You can ask us to delete your account — see your rights below.

6. Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, or to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You may also object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

7. Security

We protect your information with measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information and to address any incident promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date above showing when it last changed.
